Worked example
If a one-troy-ounce gold reference price is USD 2,000 and the selected amount is 0.5 troy ounce, the estimated reference value is USD 1,000 before any currency conversion. This is arithmetic on a reference price, not a jewelry valuation or a guaranteed amount a buyer will pay.
What the estimate does not include
Metal purity, alloy content, stones, condition, collectible premiums, assay fees, dealer spreads, refining costs, taxes, shipping, and auction fees are not evaluated.
